Art on the Plaza: Clint and April

As part of MOCA’s Art on the Plaza series, Autumn Casey’s “Clint and April” sculptural installation will be on view at MOCA's Plaza from Friday, July 29 through Friday, October 7. The outdoor installation features two swan sculptures, each secured on their respective plinths. Each sculpture is illuminated from within via solar-powered lights. Existing as a pair to echo the natural practice of swans who mate for life, “Clint and April” creates a tender space for the contemplation of love, beauty, ideas of worship and familial bonds. The installation features a performance with a written prompt of questions to inspire conversation between the artist and the audience.

The French Horn Collective is an energetic and progressive band that performs an eclectic variety of jazz, swing, and modern original French music throughout South Florida. Led by Parisian musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer and songwriter Vincent Raffard, the diverse group consists of anywhere from three to eight highly talented musicians from a myriad of musical backgrounds, with instrumentation including trumpet, guitar, violin, double bass, clarinet, and vocals. The French Horn Collective’s wide variety of musical influences, ranging from Gypsy jazz, hot swing, ska, to polka, results in the band producing a smooth mixture of progressive Gypsy/Parisian/swing/world music.
