Miami-Dade Farmers Month

Less than an hour south of the vibrant City of Miami lies a hidden gem, a world away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Welcome to South Dade, Miami’s picturesque countryside. As you venture from Pinecrest to the Redland, Homestead, Florida City, and the edge of the Everglades, you’ll discover the heart and soul of Miami’s farming community.

Prepare to be enchanted by endless stretches of lush lychee groves, exotic fruit and vegetable farms, and charming local produce stands. And if you’re a wine lover, you’re in for a treat! Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery crafts exquisite wines from the bountiful harvest of passion fruit, carambola, guava, avocado, and mango in South Dade.

These hardworking farmers contribute to the local economy and play a vital role in Greater Miami & Miami Beach’s renowned dining scene, recognized by the prestigious MICHELIN guide. Their dedication and passion deserve to be celebrated, and that’s why the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau is thrilled to announce the second annual Miami-Dade Farmers Month from November 1 – 3, 2023.

Throughout November, visitors can indulge in special deals and unique experiences at South Dade’s farms and related businesses, honoring the incredible farming community that is the backbone of Miami’s agricultural heritage.

Immerse yourself in the wonders of South Dade as you explore unique attractions like Fruit & Spice Park, where the aromas of tropical fruits transport you to paradise. And don’t forget to stop by Knaus Berry Farm, a beloved Homestead institution, or

Robert Is Here, open since 1959, where you can savor a delectable milkshake made with exotic fruits like mamey or dragon fruit – an authentic taste of Miami’s countryside.

For a little local color, the City of Sunny Isles Beach organizes Gateway Market, a farmers market every Wednesday at Gateway Park from 5:30 – 10 p.m. Learn from a variety of vendors onsite. Discover delicious food, hand-made crafts and jewelry, live music, family-friendly games and activities, and so much more.

So, come and experience the vibrant spirit of South Dade, where nature’s bounty meets the warmth of the farming community. Let Miami-Dade Farmers Month be your invitation to celebrate the rich tapestry of Miami’s countryside and embrace the joy that comes from supporting those who work tirelessly to bring us the very best of the land.
