Acqualina Resort & Residences has introduced a refreshing new wellness enhancement at its oceanfront spa: a Cold Plunge experience designed to awaken the senses and restore balance.

Located within one of Sunny Isles Beach’s most serene Mediterranean-inspired luxury resorts, Acqualina Spa blends ancient bathing traditions with modern wellness science. Cold plunge therapy uses controlled immersion in chilled water to stimulate circulation, reduce inflammation, and support muscle recovery. It also helps regulate the nervous system. As the body adapts to the cold, endorphins are released, leaving guests feeling energized, clear-minded, and renewed.

The Cold Plunge is part of the spa’s signature contrast therapy journey. Guests move through alternating phases of heat, steam, and cooling elements. Each stage enhances the benefits of the next.

The Ritual Flow Experience Includes:

  • Finnish Sauna with Himalayan Salt (10–15 minutes)
Dry heat eases muscle tension while mineral-rich salt air supports respiratory wellness and skin vitality.
  • Cold Plunge (30 seconds–2 minutes)
A brisk immersion that invigorates circulation, sharpens focus, and refreshes the body.
  • Crystal Steam Room (5–10 minutes)
A soothing steam environment that hydrates the skin and deepens relaxation.

Arctic Ice Fountain
A refreshing finale that helps calm inflammation and complete the contrast therapy experience.

Guests are encouraged to rest and rehydrate between rounds. The sequence can be repeated two to three times, creating a personalized wellness experience based on individual comfort.

Spanning approximately 20,000 square feet across two levels, Acqualina Spa offers multi-functional treatment rooms, a couples’ suite, saunas, steam rooms, relaxation lounges, and an outdoor terrace. The terrace features a spa pool, heated jet pool, and Roman waterfall, all overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Cold plunge therapy is not recommended for guests with certain medical conditions, including cardiovascular concerns, uncontrolled blood pressure, pregnancy, or cold hypersensitivity. Guests should consult a medical professional before participating.

Experiences like the Cold Plunge at Acqualina Spa continue to strengthen Sunny Isles Beach’s reputation as a year-round wellness destination. Visitors can enjoy restorative spa treatments, oceanfront luxury resorts, and sophisticated coastal relaxation in one beautiful setting.
